These teams worked together to help SME’s working out of C4CC to grow their business.
MzTEK is a non-profit organisation with the aim of addressing the imbalance of women artists working in the fields of new media, computer arts, and technology. MzTEK is supported by Hackney arts institution [ SPACE ], and the Centre for Creative Collaboration in Kings Cross, where they hosted a range of workshops, talks, and self-initiated tinker sessions. In this video, MzTEK talks about moving in to C4CC and what MzTEK are and do.
Homecamp brings together members of the technical community interested in using open systems and low cost, often re-purposed hardware to bring around a positive change in the way we use energy and appliances around the home. Homecamp 4 brought those working with technology, whether software, hardware or web based applications to meet at an informal “unconference” held at C4CC to offer presentations, workshops, mash-ups and hack sessions with the aim of sharing information and furthering the development of the open energy community. Of the four presentations that day we hear from Ken Boak – inventor of Nanode.
Rewired State and Young Rewired State were given access to the National Pupil Dataset, made available courtesy of The Department For Education over the weekend of July 7th – 8th, 2012. It’s not everyday you get to interview Michael Gove MP who was, at the time, The Education Secretary. This video gives the viewer an overview of what was covered and discussed over the weekend. This hack was based around the National Pupil Dataset, a vast and unique dataset that includes the anonymized national public exam results of around 600,000 English schoolchildren through key stages 2, 4 and 5. The Department for Education pre-released the dataset so that both they and the public could better understand it, and also wanted to identify any security risks or obvious stories in the data before public release.
